The nation’s premier, longest-running public safety UAS conference moves closer to D.C., featuring content for policymakers, regulators and program leaders.

NACON 2027 will be larger and more dynamic than any DRONERESPONDERS conference we have held before. It will be the largest gathering of public safety drone leaders anywhere in the world.”

— Chief Charles Werner (ret.), Director, DRONERESPONDERS

WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — DRONERESPONDERS, the world’s leading nonprofit program supporting public safety agencies that fly drones to save lives, today announced that the DRONERESPONDERS National Public Safety UAS Conference (NACON) — the largest gathering of public safety advanced aviation leaders in the world — will be held March 16-17, 2027, at the historic Main Street Station in Richmond, Virginia.

NACON 2027 marks the biggest change in the event’s history. The new location will make it easier for participant to travel to NACON, while also allowing DRONERESPONDERS to expand its content program and exhibit area. Main Street Station, a National Historic Landmark built in 1901 in the heart of downtown Richmond, gives DRONERESPONDERS room to welcome up to 1,000 participants and more than 100 vendor and sponsor partners

“We are excited to move NACON into a larger venue closer to Washington D.C. that will give us more space to operate, said Chief Charles Werner (ret.), Director, DRONERESPONDERS. “NACON 2027 will be larger and more dynamic than any DRONERESPONDERS conference we have held before. It will be the largest gathering of public safety drone leaders anywhere in the world under one roof.”

DRONERESPONDERS NACON 2027 will showcase more than just a new location, it will also feature an updated educational program focused on public safety UAS policymaking, regulations, strategy, and program management. The new location closer to Washington D.C. will allow increased participation from Federal regulators and stakeholders and the additional space will allow DRONERSPONDERS to offer targeted breakout conversations on key topics such as UAS program management, Counter-UAS operations, Drone as a First Responder (DFR), advanced air mobility (AAM), and more.

“Public safety drone programs are maturing, and the community is ready to start engaging in more targeted conversations about how to effectively manage and evolve their operations,” said Christopher Todd, Executive Director, AIRT – the official home of the DRONERESPONDERS program. “We are excited to update NACON with enhanced conversations, new case studies, increased exhibit space, and more networking opportunities than ever before.”

An Open Invitation: Exhibit, Sponsor, or Speak at NACON 2027

With more room comes more opportunity — and DRONERESPONDERS is inviting industry partners and public safety thought leaders to help shape the 2027 program now, before space runs out.

Vendors and Exhibitors: With more than 100 exhibit opportunities available — nearly double any previous year — companies bringing UAS, Counter-UAS, sensor, software, training, and public safety technology solutions to market are invited to secure a booth early.

Sponsors: Organizations looking to align their brand with the public safety UAS community’s flagship national event can choose from a range of sponsorship levels supporting the conference, receptions, and DRONERESPONDERS’ year-round training and advocacy work.

Speakers: DRONERESPONDERS is opening a call for session proposals from agency leaders, program managers, regulators, researchers, and industry innovators with real-world lessons to share on program development, DFR, Counter-UAS, Advanced Air Mobility, and public safety airspace integration.

Agencies, companies, and individuals interested in exhibiting, sponsoring, or speaking at NACON 2027 are encouraged to reach out early, as space is expected to fill quickly given the conference’s sold-out history.

Registration is open now for NACON 2027. Visit DRONERESPONDERS.org/NACON for additional information.
