Omega Engineering Announces Release of Its Newest Series of Temperature Transmitters

PRTXI and the PRTXS Series IO-Link compatible RTDs

NORWALK, Conn., March 15, 2023 (Newswire.com) - Omega's newest RTDs, the PRTXI and the PRTXS Series, offer more configuration and higher temperature ranges than other RTDs on the market. These innovative sensors, which feature both 4-20 mA and IO-Link outputs, offer versatility for use in either analog or digital control systems — allowing for superb data transfer and the elimination of external influence of the signal.

"Incorporating these IO-Link compatible RTDs into your IO-Link system has many benefits," says Ken Leibig, Director of Engineering at Omega Engineering. "They feature M12 connection technology, meaning junction boxes are no longer required, cable ends don't need to be stripped, crimped or wired, and installation is simplified. Device parameters can be stored and are automatically downloaded to new or replacement sensors — so sensor replacement is a breeze. And, in addition, far more information can be received from the sensor, such as device identification, parameters, diagnostic data, and process data. Also, there's guaranteed compatibility: If a sensor is IO-Link compliant, it is guaranteed to work in any IO-Link system, regardless of type or manufacturer. Plus, even if your system is not ready for an IO-Link upgrade just yet, you can initiate some future-proofing by installing these RTDs — they function as 4-20 mA transmitters, and, when you're ready for a system upgrade, these same probes can be incorporated into the new IO-Link system. Ultimately, with easy installation and fast lead times, you're getting a superior product installed into your process. And you're getting it quickly."

The PRTXI and PRTXS Series are designed with rugged 316L stainless steel housing and are IP69 rated, meaning they are suitable for washdown environments. As such, these new RTDs are ideal for industrial applications like Industrial Automation and Automotive and sanitary applications like Food & Beverage and Pharmaceutical/Personal Care.
